This week I am doing something a little different and profiling a team instead of an individual.  Wujud Paranormal Team hails from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

Firstly let's look at the team word “Wujud”, it is an Arabic word, which translates to “existence”, “being” or “entity”. As a religious Islamic word, it derives a new meaning, one of a much deeper spiritual nature with the meaning “Being found or perceived by God”

My intent was to profile one person from this Malaysian team, but all seven investigators are truly interesting people, and as we in Australia don't hear much about Malaysian teams, particularly those with an Islamic view to the paranormal, I thought I would profile the team as a whole, the first time I am doing this for this blog series.

Wujud proudly works together as a team on investigations, with all team members; “Rb”, “Ana”, “Rosyam”, “Zoro”, “Ramli”, “Vierra” and “Senpai” all playing vital roles in the team's investigation and research into the paranormal.

Wujud likes to visit a local location, Taman SUK, Shah Alam, Malaysia listing it as their favourite place to investigate, with other locations, “Jugra, Klang Selangor”, “Serendah Rawang Selangor” and “Taman Rakyat, Klang Selangor” as other notable favourites. Team member, Sengai tells me that the team loves investigating in all these locations as there are portals to other dimensions located in each place, and that helps to make the locations more paranormally active increasing the potential to capture something on equipment. 

The team mostly uses the same types of equipment used by paranormal investigation teams worldwide, but really like their night vision cameras as it helps them to capture phenomena in low or no light.

One of the more interesting cases Wujud investigated was with an exorcist!

This team sure does find its way around Malaysia with a lot of interesting locations to investigate. You can check out a feature video about the team via their youtube channel, their Blogspot or via Facebook.

The Greatest Missionary since St Paul

 A Brief Background of St Francis Xavier

Born on April 7th 1506, in Xavier in Northern Spain,

Francis was born into a wealthy aristocratic family and was sent to study in Paris at the age of 19. 

Francis took an interest in sports and the nightlife in Paris, but remained unfocused until meeting Ignatius of Loyola, who guided him through his “30 days of prayer”

From this interaction, Francis became one of the seven original companions in the new order of “The Society Of Jesus”, now known as the Jesuits.

Francis was ordained a priest in Venice, in 1537.

Francis was sent to India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and onto Japan, along the way he converted many people to Christianity. Baptising and Blessing people, and holding the hands of the sick and dying, comforting them.

Francis learned to speak Japanese in one year of living in the country, but had also learned basic prayers in over 20 other languages!

In 1552, Francis set off for China, but he never touched the mainland, dying of a fever on the island of Shangchuan, 14kilometeres of the coast.

Francis was recognised as a Saint on March 12 1622 – the same day as Ignatius Loyola.

Francis is the patron saint of all missions of the Catholic Church, as well as the Patron Saint of Australia, Borneo, China, East Indies, Goa, Japan and New Zealand, His Feast day is celebrated on December 3rd

An Incorrupt Body

St Francis Xavier was 46 years old when he died on Shangchuan island on December 3rd 1552

Two months later a merchant ship arrived and crew member opened his grave to discover that Xavier's body was “as fresh as on the day he died”

The sailor cut off a piece of flesh to show his Captain as proof. The body was put on the ship and taken to Malacca, where it was vandalised further.

A Jesuit superior secretly removed the body and stored it in a casket until it could be taken away by ship to Goa in 1553. Goa India was where St Francis Xavier first began his missionary work, it is also the first place his body was put on display in March 1554

The Superior General of Jesuits arranged for the right forearm to be detached from the body in 1614 so that it could be displayed as a Holy Relic in the Church of Gesu in Rome. The Relic has only been removed from Gesu on four other occasions.

In April 1994 a forensic examination was carried out in the presence of a team from an English television network to certify the bodies deceased but largely intact state!

His body remains in the Basilica of Bom Jesus – Every 10 years his body is exposed for veneration, in 2005 over 2 million people honoured him

October 17th 2012 - Adelaide, South Australia

Australia is very blessed by the Jesuits leaders in Gesu, allowing the right arm of St. Francis Xavier to travel to Australia for the Bishops "Year of Grace", only the 4th time the Holy relic has left Gesu in almost 400 hundred years!

We travelled into Adelaide City to the Cathedral of St Francis Xavier to witness the Holy Relic for ourselves, to be in its presence, something that may never happen again in this country in our lifetime.

St Francis Xavier Cathedral is a beautiful setting for such a Holy Relic, and we were very lucky that upon our visit, the Church was all but empty, allowing us time to gaze, ponder and pray.

Hailing from Ipoh, Malaysia, Arwin Gonzalez is the founder and lead investigator of Malaysian Paranormal Research.

Arwin became interested in the paranormal as a child after experiencing and seeing some strange occurrences. He also lists the “Ghostbusters” movie as being a major influence in his direction for seeking answers to what happens after we die.

It is Arwins goal as a paranormal investigator to find the answers that many of us seek, is there an afterlife, and what is the soul?

I asked Arwin;
 “How has becoming a paranormal investigator changed your life?"

Arwin:“Being able to understand death is not the end, but rather a beginning of the next level of life. My view and perspective on spirits have changed, unlike many (that) say spirits are evil and demonic, but I find spirits are just humans without body and do retain emotions and feelings.”


Arwin finds it deeply satisfying researching the history of locations he is going to investigate and then being able to validate his research findings through various different methods during his investigations.
He also finds he tends to dream a lot about upcoming investigations, only to find his dream coming true, and a sense of deja vu coming over him whilst investigating.

Arwin lists Cemeteries, Pudu Prison and Kellies Castle, the subject of the Ghost Hunters International episode he was in, as his favourite locations to investigate and three of the four places he was most impressed with. The fourth being a private school he investigated.


Arwin has seen many paranormal phenomena in his time investigating including the formation of ectoplasm right in front of his face. The ectoplasm shaped itself into a face like structure and approached Arwin, as it started to enter his body and dissolved. Arwin stated that the ectoplasm felt cold to the touch.


Amongst the vast amount of evidence Arwin has archived in his collection, his proudest achievement is a photograph of a dark apparition caught during a gaol investigation.
Arwin states that his favourite piece of equipment to use is his much trusted Sony handy cam, “Because, without documented proof, nothing is substantial”. He also adds that being able to see in the infrared spectrum is very valuable to his investigation techniques.
